The objectives of the Graduate Institute of International Sports Affairs are as follows: to train international sports affairs administration executives and professionals for international sports organizations and industries, to cultivate their theory and application abilities, to prepare them to become qualified masters of management capable of promoting international sports affairs and relations as well as doing academic researches in the field, and above all, to develop them to meet the needs of government and society.

After graduation, students may start a career at government offices, international sports organizations, non-profit sports-related organizations, profit-oriented international sports industry, and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry organizations. GIISA seeks to design systematic curricula with an emphasis on international sports development trends, to offer practical courses for cultivating professional ISA abilities, to actively promote cooperative education with international sports organizations, to apply computer technology and information science in keeping track of international sports development, to educate and train students in cooperation with sports institutes home and abroad, and to compile, edit, and publish book series to accumulate as well as propagate knowledge of the profession.
